Tonight comes the big change. Showers and thunderstorms will form ahead of a frontal boundary. Some of these storms could be severe with damaging winds, but the main concern is the rain. The storms will be bringing heavy rainfall in the 2-3 in range and could cause some locally heavy flooding including flash floods during times of heavy downpours. The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded what was a level 2 risk to a level 3, which is an enhanced risk severe storms for our area, with the greatest time frame for severe weather being between 3pm and 11pm.
